National Skills Week – Careers in Retail Butchery

Join us at the U-Install-It Community Kitchen for National Skills Week, as the Apprentice Butchers of SA demonstrate butchery skills.  As a career pathway, it is often overlooked but when considering the food and hospitality vocation, you’ll find butchery is a critical link between the farm and the retailer.

Standom Smallgoods and Barossa Fine Foods will host the evening with Wilson Lowe, an AMIC Master Butcher who will demonstrate how to break down a whole lamb ready for retail sale. There will also be some apprentices there to talk about their experiences in the trade and demonstrate the skills they’ve learn so far.
