The Market’s brand new accessible toilet and parents room is now open! The design of the facilities are a result of a public consultation process with the Adelaide City Council’s Access and Inclusion Advisory Panel and the Market community.
The accessible facility is compliant above the Australian Standard and includes features such as automatic door access, accessible toilet with hand rail, hand wash basin, emergency response buttons (if assistance is required), a shower (with pull down seat) and adult change table; which is the only one of its kind in the Western quarter of the CBD with contemporary finishes.
The new parents room provides a light, bright and private area for parents, making shopping with the littlest members of the family a whole lot easier. Features include automatic door access, concealed cistern with bench, toilet, pram park, feeding chair, nappy bin, change table, phone charging facilities and emergency response buttons (if assistance is required).
On Tuesday 24 January 2017 the Market’s new accessible room was opened by Kelly Vincent MLC and attended by key members of the community to commemorate this special event.
