From Sunday 15 September through to Friday 11 October the Central Roadway of Victoria Square (continuation of Wakefield Street) will be temporarily closed to enable the installation of underground services.
The best access to the Central Market car park for customers coming from the east will be via Gouger Street (continuation of Angas Street). There are Video Message Boards to direct traffic to the Central Market along the Wakefild Street route into the city.
We recommend avoiding use of King William Street when possible during these works, and instead utilising other north-south streets such as Morphett, Pulteney, Frome, Hutt or the ring route to the east of the city. One of the nine other east-west streets aside from Wakefield-Grote can then be accessed. The no-right-turn rules on King William Street will remain in place.
These works will partly take place in the school holidays to minimise impact on traffic however some delays to bus and tram services can be expected during the closure. For further about bus and tram services please visit adelaidemetro.com.au.
