Seven Brothers was originally opened in O'Connell Street, North Adelaide in 1962 by Steve Zaharis, a Greek Migrant.

It was in 1977 after returning from Greece that Steve decided to call Australia home and open a Stall in the Central Market. It was his idea that people neede a place to buy fresh produce with exceptional value, bargain prices for all!

he was able to achieve this by establishing direct links with growers to move any fresh produce which did not have perfect shape or form and were in odd sizes, or contained slight skin blemishes etc.

At the time, this was a perfect niche for seven Brothers and to this day Seven Brothers lives up to being one of the best value market stalls.

Although the days of the dollar box are gone there are always great bargains to be had and, if you keep an ear out you can still hear Dollar Steve spruiking his specials during the day. He is the last of a generation of retail fruit merchants.
