Winter Produce

As the weather becomes cooler in June, July and August, our appetites start craving more comforting foods, which fortunately coincides with the time that roots vegetables such as potatoes, pumpkin and carrots become available to add to hearty soups, curries and casseroles. Our recipe for Root vegetable gratin is the perfect side to your Sunday roast.

Leafy winter greens such as kohlrabi and kale also come into season and are a rich source of nutrients like Iron. Winter citrus like oranges and grapefruit are excellent for juicing and provide a good dose of cold and flu fighting Vitamin C.
